Skills Competitions WorldSkills and EuroSkills
Competitions in promoting of professions for young people, showcasing and inspiring world-class excellence in skills and introducing youth to a variety of careers across Europe.
The AustrianSkills are national skills competitions. On international level EuroSkills and WorldSkills competitions take place alternatingly every two years. Via the AustrianSkills the competitors qualify for WorldSkills and EuroSkills, where young people have the opportunity to test their abilities and skills against other international participants.
WorldSkills 2024
The 47th WorldSkills Championships will be held from 10 - 15 September 2024 in Lyon, France. More than 1500 participants from 5 continents and 89 WorldSkills member countries are expected to compete in more than 60 occupations.
EuroSkills 2023
The 8th EuroSkills took place in Gdansk, Poland, from 5 to 9 September 2023. The originally planned event in St. Petersburg (Russia) was cancelled in March 2022 due to the war in Ukraine.
With a total of 18 medals (seven gold medals, six silver medals and five bronze medals), the Austrian team won the most medals of all 32 participating nations.
In addition, the participants of Team Austria won nine Medallions for Excellence. These are awarded for exceptional performances after the podium places.
WorldSkills 2022
On May 31 the WorldSkills Shanghai 2022 Executive Bureau and WorldSkills China announced the cancellation of WorldSkills Shanghai 2022 due to the pandemic. WorldSkills 2022 were therefore be held at different venues in 15 countries.
